Australia’s beginning international touring sports team and our first cricket team to tour England, was a team of Aborigines who lived and worked in southwest Victoria, in the 1860s. The center celebrates the achievements of Australia’s First XI and the development of Harrow from the supply center for three important farming selections, to a dynamic, rural community. At its peak, the town included a range of shops and services including two hotels. Take a walk along the river walking track where you will be delighted as you discover the abundance of bird and water life and the rich tapestry of flora found on the banks of the Glenelg. The event supports rural communities and rural women and their families. We look forward to you joining us over three days filled with friendship, learning, entertainment and fun. The Harrow Discovery center committee is coordinated by cherished volunteers who receive time out of their lives to aid manage all that cricket history has to offer. The center is located in a rural setting, about 15 minutes from Harrow, with plenty of space in the grounds for caravans and pets including horses! The Conn Community center is the ideal location for your after function or group holiday, with plenty of room to play and relax. Glendara Cottage is set on a active sheep farm, so there are everlasting ample of things to see, as healthy as fishing, bird watching or walks through some pretty red gums. Two bathrooms and two toilets complete the comfort experience. Set in a peaceful setting, accessible to the Glenelg River. Harrow Garage has been operating for many years providing the community of Harrow, surroundings towns and visitors with a local Mechanic and a fuel service. The end resting place of settlers of the oldest inland town in Victoria, It’s not often that a branch of the family tree or the minimum a twig can’t be discovered in the Harrow Cemetery. Despite the social imbalance between European settlers and Aborigines at the time of his end in 1891, Johnny mullah was given a Christian burial within the grounds of the cemetery, such was the esteem in which he was held, in the district.
